Where to put a drink on a streaming desk

Plan for the microphone, camera and the person at the desk.

Start outside the microphone path

Move the boom arm through its usual range before choosing the drink position. Include lowering the mic, turning toward another screen and getting up from the chair. A drink can be outside the camera frame yet still in the way. Prioritize a comfortable clear resting spot over how the setup photographs.

Keep controls and liquids apart

Separate the cup from mixers, audio interfaces, stream controls and cable connections. Steadi does not waterproof equipment or stop every spill. If the desk has no clear area, a stable side table within reach can provide a dedicated surface without crowding the controls.

Check fit and the whole footprint

Measure the actual drink base: 2–3.15 inches inclusive. Check a tumbler’s lower handle and any bottle boot for full seating. Give Steadi’s complete 5.2-inch footprint level support and leave room for a hand. Do not balance the holder on a narrow shelf just to keep it off camera.
